Will I earn a UX writing certification?

Yes! The Fundamentals of UX Writing course offers a certification in UX writing, once you successfully complete the final project.

Does this UX writing course teach Figma?

Yes! The Fundamentals of UX Writing course requires you to learn at least some basic Figma skills to complete the final project. We include some instructional videos to learn Figma from the perspective of a content designers and UX writer.

Is UX writing worth learning even with AI?

Yes, we think UX writing is important to learn even when using artificial intelligence. Although AI can be a great tool when writing for user interfaces, you still need to know what separates “good” UX writing from “bad” UX writing.

Does this course offer a mentor?

The Fundamentals of UX Writing course offers personal written feedback on assignments at the end of each unit. We also offer a separate coaching service if you want to meet with a mentor.

Do I need a technical background?

No. This cohort is designed for content designers who are new to technical environments. You don’t need coding experience, just a willingness to learn and work hands-on.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You won’t be writing code. The focus is on understanding how engineering environments work and how to contribute within them as a content designer.

What tools will we use?

You’ll work with tools like GitHub and VS Code, along with common workflows such as pull requests, branches, and code review. The skills you’ll learn can be applied on any team using industry-common tools.

Will we be working in real repositories?

Yes. You’ll practice in a real repository created for the cohort, designed to reflect how teams actually work.

How is AI used in the cohort?

AI is used throughout as a practical tool. You’ll learn how to use it to navigate unfamiliar code, understand repositories, and support real workflows.
