UX Content Collective Forum Terms of Use
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Welcome to the Content Design Forum (the “forum”), run by UX Content Collective (“UXCC”, “we”, “us”). The forum is a place for people interested in UX writing, content design, user experience and related fields to share knowledge, ask questions, exchange ideas and learn from one another.
These Terms of Use explain the rules for accessing and taking part in the forum. They include the Community Code of Conduct below. By creating an account, accessing the forum or taking part in discussions, you agree to these terms.
If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t use the forum.
About the forum
The forum is open to people aged 18 and over, including UXCC students, alumni, members and members of the public. You don’t need to be enrolled in a UXCC course or hold a paid UXCC membership to take part in areas open to the public.
Access to the forum doesn’t include access to paid UXCC courses, workshops, membership benefits or other products and services. These may require separate enrollment or payment.
We may introduce, change, restrict or discontinue forum features and activities as needed.
Public and restricted areas
The forum has public and restricted areas.
Content posted in public areas can be seen by anyone, including people who don’t have a forum account. It may be listed by search engines, and copied, quoted or shared by others.
Your display name, profile photo and headline appear next to everything you post. Your profile page isn’t listed by search engines unless you turn that on in your forum settings.
Restricted areas, such as members-only subforums and course discussion spaces, are available only to people who have been given access. Access restrictions don’t guarantee confidentiality. People with access can copy, screenshot or share what they see.
Photos attached to posts can be opened by anyone who has the photo’s web address, including photos posted in restricted areas. Documents attached to posts can only be downloaded by people who can see the post.
Before posting, consider who may be able to see your contribution. Don’t share confidential, sensitive or personal information unless you have the authority to share it and are comfortable with the people who can see it.
UXCC can’t guarantee that content shared by a participant will stay private or won’t be shared further by others.
Eligibility and accounts
You need a free UXCC account to post, reply, upvote or react. It’s the same account you use for UXCC courses and workshops.
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep your account details up to date.
You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity carried out through your account. Let us know if you think someone has used your account without your permission.
You must not:
- Create an account using false or misleading information.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, qualifications or connection with UXCC.
- Use another person’s account without their permission.
- Create multiple accounts to get around a restriction or suspension.
- Share your login details or let others use your account in a way that compromises the security or integrity of the forum.
We may restrict access to an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, the account poses a security risk, or continued access could harm the community.
Community Code of Conduct
Everyone using the forum is expected to help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and constructive environment.
You agree to treat other participants with courtesy, respect different perspectives and experiences, and engage in discussions in good faith.
The following behaviour is not permitted:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or personal attacks.
- Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other protected or personal characteristic.
- Deliberate misgendering or the use of names a person has asked others not to use.
- Stalking, unwanted sexual attention, or continued one-to-one contact after someone has asked you to stop.
- Posting sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise prohibited material.
- Sharing private communications or another person’s personal information without permission, except where a disclosure is lawfully made to report or document misconduct.
- Encouraging, threatening, or organising behaviour that violates these standards.
Disagreement is welcome when expressed respectfully. Critique ideas, work, and approaches without attacking the people behind them.
Our Community Code of Conduct forms part of these terms. UXCC may take action when conduct violates the code, even if the behaviour occurs outside the forum and is directly connected to a forum participant’s safety or the operation of the community.
Acceptable use of the forum
The forum is intended for relevant, genuine discussions about UX writing, content design, user experience, research, accessibility, professional practice, learning, and related topics.
You agree not to use the forum to:
- Post spam, repetitive messages, or irrelevant content.
- Promote products, services, events, or businesses in a misleading, excessive, or unsolicited way.
- Send unsolicited sales messages or use the forum to harvest leads or contact details.
- Post fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, or knowingly false material.
- Upload malware, malicious links, or content intended to compromise another person’s device, account, or data.
- Scrape, collect, or harvest participant information without authorisation.
- Interfere with the forum’s operation, security, or availability.
- Circumvent access controls, moderation tools, or account restrictions.
- Violate another person’s rights or any applicable law.
Sharing relevant resources, discussing your professional experience, and mentioning your own work can be appropriate when done transparently and in the spirit of the discussion. UXCC may remove content that is primarily promotional or otherwise disrupts the community.
Job posts
Job posts belong in the Jobs and career subforum. Each job post must be for a real, open role and include:
- The location
- The work setup: remote, hybrid or on site
- The employment type
- A salary range, with the currency
Post one role per thread and say how to apply. The UXCC team reviews every job post, and every edit to a job post, before it goes live. Posts that don’t meet these requirements won’t be approved.
UXCC doesn’t check employers or candidates and isn’t part of any hiring decision. Do your own checks before applying for a role or sharing personal information with an employer.
Your contributions
You are responsible for the content you post, upload, share, or otherwise contribute to the forum, including text, images, documents, links, and other materials.
By contributing, you confirm that:
- You have the rights and permissions needed to share the material.
- Your contribution does not knowingly violate another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.
- You have removed or appropriately protected confidential, personal, and commercially sensitive information.
- Your contribution complies with these terms and applicable law.
Please don’t share confidential workplace documents, unpublished client work, private research data, internal company communications, or other restricted material unless you have the necessary authorisation.
If you share examples from your work, make sure you have permission to do so and remove identifying or confidential details where appropriate.
Ownership and use of content
You retain ownership of the original content you create and post in the forum, subject to any third-party rights and applicable law.
By posting content, you grant UXCC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and moderate the forum and to make your contribution available to its intended audience.
This licence does not transfer ownership of your work to UXCC. It does not give UXCC unrestricted permission to use your contributions in advertising, commercial products, or unrelated promotional materials.
Where content is used beyond operating the forum, we will seek any additional permission required.
The licence continues only as necessary to fulfil these purposes, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain legitimate records. We will handle removal requests in accordance with our applicable policies and legal obligations.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit another participant’s content without their permission or another valid legal basis.
UXCC retains its rights in its own course materials, resources, branding, and other intellectual property. Access to the forum does not grant you ownership of or unrestricted rights to use UXCC materials.
Privacy and confidentiality
The forum may be accessible to members of the public. You should assume that content posted in public areas may be viewed, copied, quoted, or shared by people outside UXCC.
Do not post information that you would not want other participants to see. This includes passwords, financial details, personal contact information, private correspondence, confidential business information, and sensitive personal information.
Respect the privacy of other participants. Do not publish their personal information, private messages, or identifying details without appropriate permission or another lawful basis.
UXCC will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
The forum is not a confidential messaging service. Although we expect participants to respect each other’s privacy, UXCC cannot guarantee that other participants will keep information shared in the forum confidential.
Moderation and enforcement
UXCC aims to maintain a safe and constructive environment for everyone.
We may review reported content, investigate potential violations, remove or restrict content, contact participants about their behaviour, and take other reasonable steps to protect the community.
Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, possible actions include:
- No action where we determine that no violation occurred.
- A private or public warning.
- Removal or editing of content where appropriate.
- Restrictions on posting, or access to specific areas.
- Temporary suspension of an account.
- Permanent removal from the forum.
- Reporting conduct to relevant authorities where appropriate or legally required.
We may take action without a prior warning where the behaviour is serious, creates an immediate risk, or requires urgent intervention.
We will consider the circumstances, severity, repetition, and potential impact of the behaviour when deciding how to respond.
You can report a concern to info@uxcontent.com. Please include relevant details and links where possible.
We will review reports as reasonably practicable. We may contact people involved to gather context and may limit what we disclose to protect privacy, confidentiality, and the integrity of a review.
We will handle reports involving UXCC staff with appropriate impartiality.
UXCC does not guarantee that every report will result in action or that all disputes between participants can be resolved by moderators.
Advice, opinions, and shared resources
Posts are the views of the people who write them, not UXCC. Nothing on the forum is legal, financial, employment or other professional advice. Use your own judgment before acting on anything you read.
Participants may share links to outside websites, tools, resources and services. These aren’t necessarily run or controlled by UXCC. We don’t guarantee their accuracy, availability, security or suitability, and we’re not responsible for their content or practices.
Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Review them before giving them personal information or making a purchase.
Availability and changes to the forum
We aim to keep the forum available and working properly, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature will always be available.
Access may be affected by maintenance, technical issues, security incidents or circumstances outside our control.
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue forum features where reasonably necessary.
We may also update these terms. When we do, we’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we’ll take reasonable steps to tell you, and we’ll ask you to agree to the updated terms before your next post.
Leaving the forum and account closure
You can stop taking part in the forum at any time.
You can delete your forum profile yourself in your forum settings. This removes your profile, photo, upvotes, reactions, follows and notifications straight away. Your threads and replies stay on the forum, shown as Former member, so that conversations still make sense. If you want particular posts gone, delete them yourself before deleting your profile, or email us.
Deleting your forum profile doesn’t close your UXCC account. To close your whole UXCC account, email info@uxcontent.com.
Closing your account doesn’t automatically cancel a separate UXCC course enrollment, paid membership, subscription or other service. Those are governed by their own terms.
UXCC may suspend or end your access in line with these terms. That includes where you repeatedly or seriously break the Code of Conduct, misuse the forum, threaten other participants’ safety or compromise the forum’s security. We may remove or restrict content connected to a suspended or closed account. Some information may need to be kept for legal, security, dispute-resolution or record-keeping purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, UXCC is not responsible for loss or damage arising from participant-generated content, interactions between participants, third-party websites, or interruptions to the forum that are outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights, guarantees, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Any disputes arising in connection with these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia, subject to any mandatory rights or protections available under applicable law.
